The Los Angeles Clippers Record After the First 10 Games - Take it to the Bank!

Image
With NBA basketball still over a month away wouldn't it be nice to get a sneak peak at what the season is going to look like? At least the first ten games for the Clippers. That's impossible you say? Read on. 39 days. It feels like an eternity, I know. I imagine there have been other NBA seasons as highly anticipated as the one coming in 2019-20, but it doesn't feel like it. So many big names changed teams this off-season. The Raptors are the defending champions. The Raptors! From Canada!! In short, there is a lot to look forward to, especially in Los Angeles. LA is home to four of the top 10 NBA players according to  Sports Illustrated.  Incidentally, do you think it bothers LeBron James to come in at #3? I mean, does it motivate him? Does he need motivation at this point in his career? I am honestly curious to know if he even cares.  Anyway. The Clippers, with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, are poised for the best season in their history. I'm not sure it will be th...

Will the Clippers new Additions be as Seamless as Expected?

Image
Despite a lot of justified excitement surrounding the 2019-20 Clippers it's important to remember there are challenges ahead. Building a team isn't easy, building a Championship is even tougher. A Star. Star defined is any massive self-luminous celestial body of gas that shines by radiation derived from its internal energy sources. This translates to athletes’ gifts as such. A star athlete is one whose gifts elevate he or she into the top echelon of his or her peers. One's physical and mental abilities have come together at the right time. They become the focal point of the team and the most critical element needed to enable the team to succeed. That success is fueled by one's internal energy source. Their drive, their compassion, their dedication. The N.B.A has many good players, but not many stars. Entering the 19-20 season, there are 494 players in the league. This does not include the D-League. Of those players, 24 are voted as All-Stars each year and of those 24 t...

Los Angeles Clippers: What's the Real Reason Behind the Ty Lue Hiring?

Image
It's been 35 years since the Clippers joined the Lakers in Los Angeles. The 2019-20 season is the first time in all those years the "Battle for LA" is between two of the Associations best teams! With the growing anticipation of the 2019-20 NBA season, the arms race in the Western Conference between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers continues deep into the off-season. With every roster move, every coaching or front office addition, both teams are trying to gain every asset possible to become the next NBA champion. For the Clippers adding another piece to their already stellar coaching staff and front office, seems unfair at first glance. That’s if you haven’t been paying attention to the NBA headlines for the last few months. The Clippers have reached an agreement with former Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue to become the assistant head coach to Doc Rivers on Tuesday, August 20th. Now keep in mind the type of summer the Clippers have had. Coming off a first-ro...

Los Angeles Lakers: Who Is the X-Factor That Will Bring a Championship to LA?

Image
The Lakers have two established stars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Teams win Championships though, not individuals. The Lakers need more, they need an X-Factor. Who will that be in 2019-20 for the Purple and Gold? Kyle Kuzma is the first name that comes to mind. He is after all the only young piece the Lakers held on to in the Anthony Davis trade. Kuzma has shown flashes in his first two years, but the jury is still out. Can he play meaningful minutes in big games, will his defense improve, can he make plays for his teammates? Kuzma could be a special player especially alongside LeBron and AD, but he is not the X-factor that will win the Lakers a championship. Danny Green? Coming off another championship run he fills a role that every team needs, a 3 and D player with big-game experience. The Lakers signed him to a 2-year contract and expect him to contribute. But he is not the X-Factor. Green’s shooting has become streaky and while he's a solid defender, he’s not elite...

Los Angeles Clippers: Will 2019-20 Be Their Best Season Ever?

On the heels of the franchises best off-season ever, it seems silly to ask if the upcoming season will be their best. First off, it's a silly question because, despite what so many others are saying, no one knows for sure. Then, one could argue that a great off-season should translate to the their best season ever. Finally, it's important to understand there are multiple ways to define the success of a season. Lot's to think about here. So, lets take each of those points individually. Will the Clippers 2019-20 season be their best ever? No one knows for sure. Of course, if we just started and stopped there writing about the team would be kinda boring. It's true that no one knows, but we can all guess. I mean, that's the bread-and-butter of this time of year. Initially, the pundits placed their best on where Kawhi would end up. Some were wrong: #Clippers are OUT of Kawhi sweepstakes. After a phone conference the team was notified. #Lakers and #Raptors are still in...

Full Court Press: Los Angeles Clippers, July 22nd, 2019

Image
It's time to take a look at what the world is saying about the  Los Angeles Clippers.   The rules of Full Court Press are simple. We Google "Los Angeles Clippers" and write about the top six links. It's true that things have slowed down since the wacky Free Agent season essentially completed. But, there are still people out there writing. This is what they are saying. 1. Clipperholics - LA Clippers: Examining the Team's Three Biggest Risks in 2019-20 This is easily the best sports writing in the history of writing about sports. Since the very beginning, when a chisel was put to stone to document the latest gladiator match there has never been a more thorough and eloquent overview. It's really that good. Or, maybe it's just because our Jose Salviati wrote this piece.  Either way, it's worth a read. Jose exams the teams lack of backup PG, possible chemistry issues and lack of rim protection as things that might negatively impact the Clippers in the upcom...
