Los Angeles Lakers need shooters - Los Angeles Clippers need a STAR!

I forget how much fun the NBA off season is until it arrives! This is fun. Both the Clippers and the Lakers have a lot riding on this off season. The Clippers have the better team now, but that can change after free agent decisions are made. Where the Lakers need shooters to round out their squad, the Clippers need a star. The Lakers already have the star, well stars! A lot has been said about the Lakers clearing space by shipping three players and a 2nd round pick to Washington as part of the deal that brings them Anthony Davis. It's a bold move that leaves them with LBJ, AD, Kyle Kuzma and...well, that's it. LBJ is a once in a generation player and AD is one of the best in the Association, but they obviously need more. I mean, the rules of the game require five on the court and as of right now the Lakers don't even have that! Many are hoping for another star. Happy NBA Free Agent Eve - Los Angeles Lakers Edition

The NBA off-season has not disappointed, has it? In fact, it rarely does. The NBA off-season is kind of like MLB Spring Training. That's the time each team has World Series aspirations. Yes, even the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim! The key difference of course is that by Spring Training each MLB roster is mostly set. The NBA off-season is when rosters are built! What does link the two sports during those two unique times however is the unbridled optimism each team has for the upcoming season. The Los Angeles Lakers are no exception and certainly know how to do optimism! Of course, they were optimistic at this time last year and things didn't go all that well. Which is what makes this time of year so interesting. Despite all the guesses by all the experts - no one really knows how this is all going to pan out.  No one. Los Angeles Lakers: Free Agency 2019 Aftermath - WOW

While the dust has not yet settled on the 2019-20 NBA free agency period it's not too soon to call this the most monumental in NBA history, ever. When it comes to a free agency period impacting Los Angeles, it's even more impactful. How can something be more impactful that the most monumental ever? I'm not sure, but it's still that impactful! Others have written about who has ended up where and the stories behind those moves. My intent here is not to rehash what you already know, but rather to explore the new normal, both the positives and the negatives, for the Los Angeles Lakers. Not landing Kawhi Leonard was no doubt not how the Lakers wanted to finish this off-season. I will dive into that a bit later, for now I want to concentrate on the positives.
